Revision of the Hitachi CX1100GLS

Vroom Funderingstechnieken is committed to providing the most technically advanced, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for its clients.

This includes the maintenance of its equipment, significant investments have been made in recent years into the machinery fleet, including foundation machines.
These machines are known for their robustness and long lifespan. The Hitachi CX1100GLS was slated for re-engining to meet Stage V standards. Upon discovering that this foundation machine also required significant repairs, the decision to proceed with a full revision was promptly made. A revision is highly sustainable as the machine is reused and can operate trouble-free for many more years. Furthermore, the machine is upgraded with the latest technology after the revision, making it more cost-efficient than acquiring a new machine while meeting the latest emission requirements.

The revision was an extensive project, and Vroom chose to have this work carried out by Van den Heuvel in Werkendam. The project took over a year to complete, with the entire machine being disassembled and each component scrutinized, evaluated, and replaced where necessary.

Extending lifespan

The revision of the Hitachi CX1100GLS consists of the following components:

Basic Machine (upper carriage)
Completely stripped, blasted, and repainted; cabin refurbished; sheet metal replaced where necessary; electrical cabling and joysticks renewed.

Undercarriage
Drive motors tested and repaired, track rollers replaced, wear plates renewed, sprockets welded, and undercarriage preserved.

Hydraulic Components
Hoses replaced, pumps, slewing drive, slewing motor, central pass-through, and other components checked, repackaged or revised.

Winches
Motors checked, gearboxes examined and bearings replaced.

Cylinder
All cylinders checked and resealed, rods re-chromed and tubes honed where needed, valves checked or replaced.

A-frame
Holes welded and bored, disc bearings replaced, and cylinders revised.

Bracket/slide table
Dismantled, inspected, repaired, and reassembled, both the mechanical and hydraulic parts.

Mast
Fully inspected, repaired where needed, and blasted and painted.

Engine
Converted to Stage V.

The result is a gleaming ‘new’ machine, ready for years of trouble-free operation. Additionally, with reduced emissions compared to its prior state, the machine is also future-ready in terms of emission limitations.
