Precast lay-down areas

Building with precast lay-down areas improves efficiency, construction speed and the consistent quality of the final product. The precast lay-down areas are designed, produced and assembled by Vroom with a KOMO-KIWA product certificate. The prefab elements ensure a short execution time.

Application

  • Housing construction
  • Apartments (with separate storage units)
  • Recreational homes

Advantages

  • Construction time at the building site is significantly reduced.
  • Less deployment of production personnel on the construction site is needed; two employees and a mobile crane with an operator are sufficient for execution.
  • The quality of the final result is consistent.
  • It usually results in savings because fewer piles are used. Moreover, the piles are often shorter.

Vroom offers a complete foundation package that usually ends at the top of the ground floor. The precast lay-down areas are often combined with dimensioning, precast foundation beams and the installation of the ground floors, including pouring. If necessary, a combination is made with in-situ poured concrete. Storage roofs, pergola floors and garage floors are also part of our delivery package. Often the products are combined with each other.

Execution

When using a wooden structure, a rebate is usually not used. The wooden structure then stands directly on the floor. In a masonry structure, a rebate is used in the floor. The masonry sits in the rebate, so that not the concrete floor but the masonry is visible.

Foundation on Piles

In most cases, the floors are placed on foundation piles to prevent settling. For the piles, openings are placed in the floor, so that the dowel from the pile is positioned here. The dowel ensures the anchoring of the floor to the pile.

Foundation on Grade

Normally, the underside of the floor is hollow. If one wants to foundation on grade, i.e., without the use of piles on the sand layer, it is necessary to fill the underside of the floor. We do this filling with a hard compression EPS, so that the entire surface of the floor comes into contact with the sand bed and will bear.

Finishing

The floors are poured using self-compacting concrete (SCC). This type of concrete flows flat in the mold and ensures a smooth surface.

Insulation

If it is desirable to insulate the floor, then we completely fill the underside with hard compression EPS.

Assembly

The precast lay-down areas are mounted with a telescopic crane or mobile crawler crane, depending on the element weights and the distance at which they need to be placed.
