For the foundation of 10 back-to-back houses, we installed 31 prefab foundation beams, including facilities for pouring in and on, on top of the 74 prefab piles previously driven into the ground by Vroom Funderingstechnieken.

Mayor Marjan van Kampen-Nouwen and Stefan van Schaik, CEO of Wooncompagnie, jointly initiated the construction of the first 48 energy-efficient social housing units in the Noorderlicht plan in Tuitjenhorn in June 2023. Here too, the powerful combination of Vroom Funderingstechnieken and Vroom Betonbouw was chosen: the entire foundation under one roof.

The homes in the Noorderlicht project in Tuitjenhorn are appealing because of the wooden CLT* construction of the Hamlet Home Concept.

^*) CLT construction means cross-laminated timber and refers to a construction technique where massive wooden panels are glued together crosswise. This construction brings about significant strength and load-bearing capacity. CLT construction is also called solid wood construction. The acronym CLT stands for cross-laminated timber.

In December 2023, Vroom continued the work in the Noorderlicht project with the foundation of 56 houses in the same plan.

Conceptual Construction

The complete CLT carcass is realized in just two days. The CLT facades are installed with glazed frames, making the homes immediately wind and waterproof. The bathroom and toilet are prefab units. Together with a smart finishing package, this ensures a smooth completion. For this location, a brick outer facade has been chosen. It is mortarless, dry-stacked, and fully circular. The prefab foundation and flooring concept for Hamlet Home was developed in collaboration with Dycore.

Hamlet Home is the housing concept designed by Hamlet Design+Build Technology, featuring a GFA (Gross Floor Area) of 87 m², a bay size (= gross width) of 5.50 meters, and 4 bedrooms.

The homes in Tuitjenhorn are designated for social rent. The Hamlet Home concept is available for realization throughout the Netherlands.
