In the first construction stage, Vroom Foundation Technology has already produced the DPA piles for the 84 apartments in Volendam. In the second stage, the foundation constructions for 15 sheds until the floor have been realized. These sheds will be built on the difficultly accessible backside of existing homes that are being renovated. First, the steel tubular piles were inserted. This pile system can be very well produced on locations that cannot be reached by big foundation rigs and offer little room for the realization of foundation piles.
For this special project, Vroom Foundation Technology could guarantee a short execution time as the shed floors were delivered in prefab concrete. The mounting process of the large floors measuring 4 x 6 m yielded beautiful video images.
On the prefab shed floors measuring a fair 4 x 6 m, 2 sheds will be built. The floors have already been equipped with lines for water and electricity in the factory. Special transport for the large floor elements was necessary. First, a license was applied for as the traffic on the supply route had to be stopped in order to get the truck carrying load sticking out on both sides over two lanes to its final destination at the same time. On the building side, the prefab floors have been transferred from the truck using a crane and mounted on the driven steel tubular piles. Under supervision, the floors were taken from the factory just in time. On the building site, the crane could move quickly allowing the mounting process to proceed. In tow shifs, 3 single and 12 double shed floors have been mounted. The planned area for the 84 apartments is bordered by Julianaweg, Kielstraat, Zwaardstraat and Schippersgracht. For this project, 35 family homes will make room for 84 apartments, health care station, meeting room and one family home on street level. Underneath a part of the apartments, a full in-depth parking garage is realized offering around 120 parking lots. In addition, in the Boegstraat, for 27 homes the sheds will be replaced. The homes themselves will not be demolished, but renovated.
