As the sand layer on the coastline is much thicker than just on the mainland, the piles have been pre-drilled in order to pierce the sand layer followed by the piles being driven through the upper sand layer and further until a sand layer with sufficient bearing capacity.
Dismountable foundation and floors
A requirement for building on coastlines is that the construction project has to be able to be made undone. Using prefab foundation beams is an advantage as they can be mounted in such a way that they can simply be dismounted. The floors have been realized as hollow core-slabs which are prefab elements that can be mounted or dismounted fast.
Opening deadline
As we were allowed to build only short before the opening of the season, there was a short construction period. In order to use this period well, we took optimal use of prefab products. The piles as well as the foundation beams and the floors have been realized as prefab elements. The piles have been inserted within 5 days as the foundation beams as well as the floor elements have been applied within 1 day.
Just in time
To have all elements delivered, we have used the just in time delivery method. Exactly at the moment when elements had to be processed, they were delivered on the building site. As a result, not much supplies have been present on the building site as sufficient space remained in order to be able to process the elements well.
