The project started with the driving of 73 pre-cast concrete piles. 37 foundation beams were assembled on top of these. These were delivered ex works with embeds for water and waste pipes, and electricity cables. A project that will be a success because the engineering of the separate elements of the foundations were co-ordinated with the piling and the requirements of the foundations at an early stage. And that is the great advantage of Vroom Betonbouw and Vroom Funderingstechnieken.
9 dwellings, Het Vierkant
We are making the complete foundations for six houses for permanent occupation and three holiday homes in Schoorldam, using pre-cast driven piles and foundation beams.
Resistance
Schoorldam, a village in the province of Noord-Holland lies in two local authority areas: Bergen and Schagen. The village is ‘divided’ by the Noordhollandskanaal. Schoorldam has a recorded history dating back to 1200.
Now, new construction is taking place. And that is happening on the site that initially met with substantial resistance from the local authority. The site location is right next to the De Rekere holiday homes. A majority of the municipal council (CDA, PvdA, VVD, Wens4U) eventually agreed to a change of the development plan, giving the building plans the go-ahead. They believe that the land on the Westfriesedijk will be much improved by the new construction. The plan received a lot of criticism from the other parties in the council. They were annoyed at the fact that the six houses for permanent occupation under the terms of the planning permission were intended for rental to expats. The parties argued that the population of the village itself wouldn’t benefit in any way. They would rather have seen that Schagen had forced De Nijs to accept a plan that had previously been on the table, for a total of 26 (affordable) houses. That plan, however, was forced from the table at that time under pressure from the provincial authorities, according to councillor Jelle Beemsterboer. He says that it is De Nijs’s intention to go ahead with the 26 houses nonetheless, within a period of ten years.
