Vroom Funderingstechnieken and Vroom Betonbouw are making the entire foundations for this small-scale, yet striking new construction plan on the south side of Bergen. In the midst of the existing built environment it is important to generate as little disruption as possible for existing residents over a period of four weeks, at the end of which the foundations must be completed.
A great example of efficient collaboration between the two divisions of Vroom.
Social function
A new community support point will be built under the four new-build ‘porch apartments’. The old T&O building was demolished earlier this year, after which the site was improved and prepared for building. The plan envisages 20 social-housing dwellings: 12 three-room detached houses, 4 accessible ‘no-stairs’ dwellings allowing people to live on the ground floor, plus 4 two-room apartments. These dwellings address the large-scale demand for social housing among home seekers. The dwellings are ‘zero meter usage’ units, which contributes to sustainability targets and affordability for tenants.
When the plans for this site were generated, the important function of the community centre was immediately highlighted. Everyone is excited that the talks between Kennemer Wonen, Stichting Welzijn Bergen and the local authority have led to the situation in which the social function of the community centre on this site will be maintained. An individual space will be furnished for this purpose, within the new-build complex, which will be administered by Stichting Welzijn Bergen. The dwellings are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
